Amy Adams is one of the most recognizable actresses working today, with a career that includes six Oscar nominations and two Golden Globe wins. Fans are anticipating the imminent release of her new movie, Nightbitch, a movie about a woman who believes she is turning into a dog.
One thing that audiences may be less familiar with is Adams’s marriage to longtime partner Darren Le Gallo. Here’s all there is to know about her perennial plus one.
He’s a fellow actor
Like Adams, Le Gallo is also an actor. His credits include appearances on Six Feet Under and the 2010 comedy Date Night. He's also popped up in some of his wife's movies, such as Trouble with the Curve and Lullaby. In fact, performing initially brought the pair together. Adams told Vanity Fair that they met during acting classes in 2001. “I had another boyfriend, and Darren was dating some girl I did scenes with him, and I liked him and thought he was really sweet.” She added, “I was really focused on the classes—he was a little scared of me.” The two aspiring actors would later appear together in a short film called Pennies and began dating soon after.

In a sweet picture from November 2022, the couple can be seen sharing a kiss during a screening of Sam and Kate, a movie Le Gallo directed starring Dustin Hoffman.
He’s also an artist
Acting isn't the only medium that Le Gallo has explored in his career. His social media bios read, “I make stuff,” which includes visual art and music. Yes, Le Gallo can be found on Soundcloud with a collection of electronic music. According to the site Incollect, De Gallo as an artist is known for “his dream-like paintings which delve into emotional states and the subconscious mind.” After receiving a degree in painting from Abilene Christian University in Texas, he’s continued pursuing his passion, sharing his art on Twitter and Instagram.
Le Gallo and Adams had an extended engagement
After dating for several years, the couple reportedly got engaged in 2008. However, they were in no rush to tie the knot. In 2015, People reported that Adams and Le Gallo married outside of Santa Barbara, California in an intimate ceremony. After the May 2 nuptials, Adams told U.K.’s The Times, "We always had the commitment, but now he’s stuck with me and I can really act out. I’m kidding. The truth is, I feel a stronger sense of family, a bigger sense of permanence, which is a nice thing for me."
The couple has a daughter together
In 2010, Le Gallo and Adams welcomed a daughter together, Aviana Olea. Although their personal life is kept relatively quiet, the family made a rare appearance together in 2017 when Adams got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
He’s on Instagram
While the fact that Le Gallo is on Instagram alone isn't too shocking, Adams has publicly opted out of the social media platform. Back in 2016, the Oscar nominee told Allure that she had no plans to join Twitter or Instagram. “Social media wasn't prevalent when I started,” she explained. “You didn’t want people in your house. I’ve thought about starting an Instagram account, but then I’d be like, #fiber. Really?”
However, Adams may be able to get her fix by scrolling through her husband’s feed. With his 12.5K followers, Le Gallo often shares his artwork, photos of their daughter, and #tbt pictures of the couple through the years.
He celebrated with her on her 50th birthday in August 2024.
The couple were seen leaving Santa Monica restaurant Giorgio Baldi on Friday, August 23, for the Enchanted actress’s 50th birthday. The couple held hands at one point and in other photos shared by Just Jared she can be seen holding a massive bouquet. Adams wore a blue wrap dress and matching heels while Le Gallo wore a charcoal blazer of a black shirt and black slacks.
Le Gallo and Adams had a rare red carpet date night in November 2024.
The couple posed together at the Los Angeles premiere of Nightbitch on November 20. They matched in black looks, and Le Gallo had his arm around Adams.
