Taking the Riding Academy® course requires such an extensive time commitment that filling the seats on short notice is unlikely. We specifically limit the number of seats that are available per class in order to provide a high quality experience in relation to the time commitment that you have just made. Please make a commitment to the date when you register for the class.
Cancellations or changes to your class at least two weeks prior to the class start date are facilitated at no extra charge.
Cancellations or changes to your class less than two weeks prior to the class start date are subject to a $75.00 fee.
Cancellations or changes to your class less than seven days prior to the class start date are subject to a $100.00 fee.
If you are unable to finish your class for any reason and would like to reschedule in another class, we will do our best to accommodate you. The tuition to re-take an unfinished class is $50.00 and subject to the above cancellation and change policies.
Harley-Davidson of Charlotte reserves the right to reschedule or cancel classes that do not fill. Every effort will be made to accommodate your schedule in the event of a class being cancelled or rescheduled.

No. The first day on the training range is Saturday. Although many students prefer bringing or purchasing their own helmet, we have loaner helmets available at no additional charge.
No, you do not need to go to DMV before our class. After completing our class you can take the written test at DMV to earn your motorcycle endorsement.

We have a maximum of 11 students in a class, with two instructors.
The class is only $295 which includes the Street 500 motorcycle that you learn on, all classroom materials, lunch on Saturday and Sunday, plus drinks and snacks throughout the weekend.
We offer classes at least two or three weekends per month, especially during riding season. Classes are offered year-round. Call for exact dates.
Most classes are filled long before the start date. If you have a particular date that works with your schedule, you are encouraged to register early to hold your spot in that class.
The schedule is Thursday 6pm-10pm, Saturday and Sunday are 8am-5pm.
The Riding Academy class is designed for those who have never ridden. No prior experience is necessary.

You will need a D.O.T. approved helmet, full-finger leather gloves, over-the-ankle boots with a rubber sole and a low heel, eye protection, long sleeves and long pants. It is suggested that you dress in layers.
The cost for the New Rider Class is $295 and payment is required at the time of registration.
